Financing Urban Tree Canopy Programs Guidebook for Local Governments in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

This document provides practical strategies for funding and financing municipal urban tree canopy for anyone involved in promoting the development and maintenance of community forests. This guidebook aims to help communities overcome lack of adequate funding for tree planting or maintenance by sharing information on: strategies to build a case for funding a local urban forestry program; a range of funding sources that may be available for urban forestry program implementation; and opportunities to reduce program costs.
