Water Quality Goal Implementation Team

The mission of the Water Quality Goal Implementation Team is to evaluate, focus, and accelerate the implementation of practices, policies, and programs that will restore water quality in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. This page provides information about team meetings and conference calls, projects and resources, publications, workgroups, and contact information for members.

Chesapeake Assessment Scenario Tool

The Chesapeake Assessment Scenario Tool allows users to rapidly develop scenarios with varying best management practices. Users can compare among scenarios to select the practices that reduce the most pollution, are most cost-effective, and target these practices to the highest impact areas. Scenarios can be used for TMDL Watershed Implementation Plans, Milestones, or for local planning purposes. Output includes nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loads from all sectors and sources, acres of each BMP, and costs for the scenario.

Midpoint Assessment Website

The Chesapeake Bay TMDL 2017 Midpoint Assessment aims to streamline implementation of the Bay TMDL, Phase I and Phase II Watershed Implementation Plans, two-year milestones, and make challenges to implementation more understandable for the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership. This website provides information, supporting documentation, and associated work products on the 14 primary Midpoint Assessment priorities. It also provides a link to the midpoint assessment priority schedule and schedule adjustments.

Capital Improvement Plan Spreadsheet

A capital improvement plan (CIP) can help you identify which assets to maintain and which to replace. The CIP should specify project priorities and list them by year. Information should include a project description, need for and benefits of the project, estimated capital cost of the project, estimated operations and maintenance costs, and funding sources. This spreadsheet will assist you in creating a capital improvement plan.

Criticality Calculation Spreadsheet

An organization must define which of its assets are most critical in order to focus its maintenance efforts. Assets with the highest probability of failure (POF) and consequence of failure (COF) come with the highest risk. These assets are most critical to the stormwater system. Use this spreadsheet to calculate the criticality score for each asset based on its POF and COF rankings and redundancy score. Detailed instructions are provided to assist in these calculations.

Asset Inventory Spreadsheet

This asset inventory spreadsheet allows you to identify the physical assets that make up your system. Information collected includes: the location of the assets, the useful remaining life of each asset, the value of the assets, their current condition, and whether or not they require energy. The starting point for the inventory should be to inspect and inventory particular asset classes, such as your stormwater conveyance system and your stormwater treatment system. This inventory will allow you to make informed decisions about the management of your assets.
